Az utunk olaszországi felének második állomása a Colle di Val d’Elsa nevű kis középkori városban található Intercultura nevű egyesület volt.
Giulia, a kapcsolattartónk az egyesületnél egy iszonyú érdekes programtervet rakott össze nekünk a napra mely során rengeteg emberrel tudtunk beszélgetni, körbejárhattuk a teljes épületet a milliónyi irodával, és még egy isteni finom, valódi olasz ebédet is elfogyasztottunk velük.
A szervezet legfőbb profilja az egyfajta nemzetközi diákcserék megszervezése, koordinálása és ellenőrzése. Az AFS programon keresztül bármilyen középiskolás diák kiutazhat külföldre, ahol fogadó családokhoz kerülve eltölthetnek x időintervallumot.
A program koordinálása rengeteg szervezést és munkát igényel, a jelentkezők kiválogatásától kezdve, az utazás szervezésén és fogadó családok kiválasztásán keresztül, a diákok útján keresztül felmerülő vészhelyzetek és problémák kezeléséig.
Az egyesület egy több száz éves épületben található mely a történelem során számos funkciót látott el: volt iskola és zárda is, most pedig nekik ad helyet a munkára. Több tíz irodával, tárgyaló teremmel és előadó teremmel rendelkezik, egy csodaszép udvarral és egy nagy ebédlő teremmel együtt. Nagyon érdekes volt végigsétálni az egészet és megtudni hogy melyik helyen milyen munkafolyamat zajlik.
Alkalmunk volt beszélgetni Maria Pia-val az önkéntes koordinátorral, Roberto-val a tréning koordinátorral, Simone-nal az igazgatóval és Andreaval a főtitkárral is.
Az aznapi ebédet néhány munkatársukkal fogyaszthattuk el egy helyi étteremben. Igazi olasz tésztákat kóstolhattunk szuper toszkán kilátással és hangulattal.
Nagyon-nagyon köszönjük a napot és a programokat, borzasztó jól éreztük magunkat!

Hi everyone!!!
The second stop of the Italian leg of our journey was the Intercultura association, located in the small medieval town of Colle di Val d’Elsa.
Giulia, our contact person at the organization, put together an incredibly interesting program for us for the day. We had the chance to speak with many people, explore the entire building with its countless offices, and even enjoy a delicious, authentic Italian lunch with them.
The main focus of the organization is organizing, coordinating, and overseeing international student exchanges. Through the AFS program, any high school student can travel abroad, where they stay with host families for a set period of time.
Coordinating the program involves a great deal of planning and work—from selecting applicants and organizing travel, to choosing host families and handling emergencies or problems that may arise during the students’ stay.
The association is housed in a centuries-old building that has served many purposes throughout history—it was once a school and a convent, and now it serves as their workspace. The building includes dozens of offices, meeting rooms, and lecture halls, as well as a beautiful courtyard and a large dining area. It was fascinating to walk through the entire place and learn what type of work happens in each space.
We also had the opportunity to speak with Maria Pia, the volunteer coordinator; Roberto, the training coordinator; Simone, the director; and Andrea, the secretary general.
We shared lunch that day with a few of their team members at a local restaurant. We tasted real Italian pasta while enjoying a classic Tuscan view and atmosphere.
Thank you so, so much for the day and the programs — we had an absolutely amazing time!
